If your Mediterranean fantasies feature balmy days by sapphire waters in the shade of ancient walled towns, Croatia is the place to turn them into reality.
I have heard of this country many times in my life, but never have taken the time to do any research. I have now learned it could quite possibly be one of the most amazing and incredibly beautiful places in the world. It is at the crossroads of Central Europe, Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean.
Its Adriatic Sea coast contains a dazzling necklace of over 1000 islands, each with its own idyllic charm and authentic Mediterranean grace. From the lively shores of Hvar, to the maze of National Park Kornati, Croatia offers a perfect island getaway for everyone. No matter if you wish to charter a yacht or simply take a local ferry, islands of Croatia are definitely worth visiting! Which ones will speak to you with their special voice? Just listen to your heart...
Croatia is also home to Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is one of the most visited natural wonders in all of Europe! The magic of its 16 lakes and hundreds of waterfalls is mesmerizing. The locals still call the area "The Devil's Garden" and the legend has it that during the time of great heat, people were so desperate for water that they went to beg the Black Queen to send rain. She answered with enough rain to form the breath-taking lakes waterfalls. Never to be forgotten.
If you crave breathtaking natural beauty, great swimming, summertime sun, oodles of history, interesting architecture, incredible wine, delicious seafood and so much more you may want to consider Croatia for a vacation you are sure to never forget!
